Wrath of Ahnkii is an Egyptian themed map for the Video Game Quake. It is a fairly sizable map, though the gameplay is fairly linear with a few puzzle elements to sync up to the Egyptian theme. Gameplay in hindsight is a little flat considering there is a lack of real variety in the elevation, but as a first entry into level design, it turned out decently enough to be considered for a release.

The exterior pulls blatant inspiration from Abu Simbel in Egypt, while the interior takes a more cartoon-ish and oversized feel to it to give it that almost over the top and monolithic scale.

Detailing was perhaps the most enjoyable part of the construction process, and it taught me a variety of new things with the editor, from adjusting the styles for the lights and basic skyboxes, down to adjusting the details so that the vis computations weren't painfully long.

Exterior pulls pulls heavily from Abu Simbel. Note the BSP statues out front. At the time, I wasn't too savvy with importing 3D models into quake, so I instead opted to build them out of brushes instead.
